every so often something pops into my head that i hadn't thought of before, or at least hadn't thoroughly researched it. maybe i read about a symptom on the internet. maybe i found something in one of Carli's medical papers. either way, i end up googling for hours. i scour the internet, looking for anything and everything related to whatever it is i'm looking up.

more things you don't say
most people know, by now, the things you don't say to someone who has lost a child. things like "they went to a better place" or "you can have more" or "at least they didn't have to have a bunch of expensive surgeries". generally, since you don't know a family's view on matters such as religion, children, finances, etc... you should just keep your mouth shut. a simple "i'm sorry" is the best way to go. but, face it... nothing you say is going to make it better. everything hurts. it's like walking around with your skin ripped off in a world made of salt.

miscellaneous things
i'm doing a march of dimes walk again this year. see the little banner up there? feel free to help my team reach our goal! oh, and a HUGE thanks to Heather Daniels from the july 2010 babycenter board!! she sometimes comments on my blog, and she made a donation to our team. it means a lot to me to know that she still remembers Carli, and keeps up with my blog. <3 thank you so much, Heather!
