my ob appointment was pretty uneventful. she found the baby's heartbeat right away (huge relief- i don't like how this kid hides!) and she said everything came back normal for my nt scan. the rest of my appointment, we talked about moving. the doctor gave me copies of my chart to take with me, and told me what her plans were going to be for the rest of my pregnancy. she wanted to see me every few weeks after 20 weeks, to "keep an eye on things" so i think i will look for a doctor who will do the same.
i had an ultrasound scheduled later today, for the anatomy scan. i was nervous, but not as nervous as i thought i would be. for some reason, i just felt like everything would be okay. i can feel this baby moving all the time... which is a huge difference from Carli because she barely moved at all.
so, it's friday the 13th. they sent us to the ultrasound room where Carli was diagnosed. and even with all those "bad omens" i was surprisingly calm. the technician struggled to get her measurements, because the little baby was so wiggly. every measurement had to be attempted at least twice before she got any useful information. she told us we had a very stubborn hard-headed kid. ray says that must have come from me (because he still has his stubbornness).
all of the measurements were great! the baby is measuring right on with the dates- not a day over, and not a day under. it was obviously very active, which we were told is a good sign. we saw arms, legs, fingers, toes... everything looked perfectly formed. best of all- NO HYDROPS!!! the technician said she didn't see anything abnormal or concerning... the best news ever!
and, since our baby is such a difficult little thing... it didn't want to show us the "parts". so, we waited... and we wiggled... and we found out it's a girl! i'm so excited! i had really hoped for another girl. Lynzie and Lillie were a little disappointed. they both wanted a brother... but within minutes became excited about a sister. Lynzie said "aw man! it's a girl? but i wanted a boy!" and a few minutes later... "well... i guess i'll take a girl. is she healthy?" both kids are very excited for a healthy baby, and said they would say lots of prayers so she could stay healthy.
as for her name... say hello to Eden Grace:

Good to see your pregnancy is moving along so well. I am from the July birth board and started following your blog several months ago. Congratulations on the new baby girl. Love the name you chose.
