ultrasound update

well, i called the doctor today... i decided not to wait any longer to ask for results. i called, and left a message. i gave my name, birth date, and said i was calling about the ultrasound i had yesterday. then i waited.

20 minutes later, my phone rang. i'm a little pissed off at how the nurse talked to me. i'm a lot pissed off that i still don't have any answers or reassurance. she said "those results wouldn't be in yet. the pictures have to be turned into words, and the doctor has to interpret them. he will call you when he is ready. you don't call us." ewww-- i can just hear the tone in her voice explaining to me about pictures like i'm a fucking 5 year old! 


anyway... so i asked when i could expect to hear something and she said "oh, probably not until the middle of next week." what are they doing? translating the pictures into Latin words and then hand engraving them on stone? i got ultrasound results in beckley, wv in a matter of seconds. IN BECKLEY!!! why does pittsburgh not have at least the same quality of care/equipment (whatever it is that's causing the hold up) as beckley? you'd think anything in pa would be more sophisticated than in wv. after all... wv is just a bunch of toothless rednecks, right? (no, it's really not... but i do expect better things here because there's more money to put into it.)


i'm mad. this is stupid. i hope i stay mad, so i can say something to the doctor. i'm sure it won't help anything... and he will probably just make me feel stupid. but, this is ridiculous.


oh, by the way... here are the pictures:

please don't strain your weak minds by trying to translate and interpret them. that's only for an MD to do... when he feels like it. grrrr....


i'd still happily trade those pictures for a little information... or maybe a print-out of the measurements... or even a picture of her abdomen...
