baby showers

my sister is due with her first baby in march. (dangerously close to Carli's birthday, but i will deal with that when the time comes. so far, i'm okay.) she recently had her anatomy scan, and everything was healthy and normal. oh, and she's having a boy. so... as part of a normal pregnancy, someone needs to throw her a baby shower. i've been discussing it with my mom, and i guess i'm going to be the one to organize it all, which i'm kinda excited about. i guess we are going to wait until after Eden is born to do the shower, because i don't want to travel in december. i don't want to risk going into labor somewhere on interstate 77; no thanks. 



ray's mom asked me yesterday if i had thought about a "theme" for Eden's nursery. that question, and all this baby shower talk, i guess... i finally got into the mood to think about what to do to get ready for Eden. i'm not painting any rooms yet, or buying any furniture, but i did start looking. that's a big step, right? i spent a few hours yesterday looking at baby stuff online, and picking out things i'd like to have. i showed ray. big mistake.


he said "that's a little too much." there were a few expensive things... i mean nursery furniture isn't cheap. then he pointed out that the total was over $1,000. it kinda made me feel bad. i didn't think that was anything crazy. i mean, 1,000 for all the stuff you have to get for a new baby? we don't have to get it all right now.


so, now i'm back where i was. i guess i don't need any baby stuff. ray's mom got us a car seat, which i really like. that's all we *need* i guess. i already have baby clothes. no need to worry about that other stuff now, or anytime soon. i was just kind of happy that i was starting to worry about it.
