do you do something to honor your angel(s)? if so what?
it has only been a year and half since Carli died. but some of the things we do, i expect them to become tradition.
at Carli's memorial, we released balloons. the girls attached little hand-made cards to their balloons to "send" to Carli. so, for her birthday this past year, we did another balloon release, with more cards. i hope we continue to do that for as many years as we can.
also, on Carli's birthday, i made an angel food cake. i plan to do that next year, and the years after too.
something a little more productive that we do is the march of dimes. i like honoring Carli with these walks, because it helps other babies too. team Carli Hope has done two walks, so far. the first year, we raised over 1,000 dollars in just a couple weeks. this year, i'm not sure how much we raised, because my team was a little disorganized. but something is better than nothing, and i am very proud of that.
we had team t-shirts made both years for team Carli Hope. my shirt had an "in memory of" list on the back to memorialize Carli, and all her friends (babies of the mothers i have met during this journey). that's an important part of the walk for me.
i'm always open to adding new things to do in memory of Carli. we will see what the years bring. i hope we can find more ways to help other sick babies in memory of our little girl.

I also walk for march of dimes in honor of my daughter! I like the idea of an angel food cake! I'm trying to decide what to do for my daughters birthday this year but it's so hard!
